**Please consult with your Midwife/OBGYN before returning to yoga after birth. Typically the recommendation is to wait at least four weeks for a vaginal birth and six weeks for a cesarean birth. I also strongly recommend seeing a Women's Health Physical Therapist if you're struggling with Pelvic Floor issues or Diastasis Recti. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need local recommendations.

Increase strength and energy as you connect to your body, baby and deep inner wisdom. Prenatal classes include a balance of strength-building and restorative poses and are suitable for beginners. Modifications are offered for all stages of pregnancy.
Prenatal yoga can help you: align your pelvis, learn to both strengthen and relax your pelvic floor muscles, improve ease of falling asleep, get more restorative sleep, improve your circulation, lower blood pressure, increase spinal mobility and improve digestion. Yoga can also alleviate many common discomforts such as back pain, sciatica, SI pain, hip tightness, nausea, swelling and fatigue.
Please check with your OBGYN or Midwife before beginning a Prenatal Yoga program.
Dress comfortably and bring a water bottle and yoga mat. Don't worry if you forget! (pregnancy brain is real!). I have extra mats and all the props we need.
Mama + Baby Yoga
NEW WEEKLY DAY AND TIME
Sundays at 1:00 pm (beginning November 10th)
Beverly Yoga Center
Experience a warm and welcoming return to movement after birth. This weekly, ongoing Mama & Baby Yoga class is designed to help you bond and connect with your baby on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Our classes are designed to support you through your postpartum recovery with special consideration for the core and pelvic floor.
We focus on breathing techniques and mindful movement designed for the postpartum body. We’ll stretch muscles that are tight and overused from nursing/feeding, carrying and rocking your baby, while strengthening muscles that tend to be weak in new mamas. We incorporate gentle movements for baby to dev lop their motor skills, infant massage techniques and interactive poses and songs.
Mama + Baby Yoga is designed for babies 6 weeks to actively crawling.
Dress your baby in layers and bring a baby blanket and diaper changing supplies. Please do not stress if you need to take frequent breaks to feed your baby, change a diaper or if your baby is having a fussy day.
*Note that our studio is a one-floor walk-up, so we recommend carrying baby in a carseat or wearing them in a carrier.

New 3-week workshop series begins in October
Your pelvic floor is a source of your feminine energy and power. It’s also responsible for the vital task of supporting your pelvic organs and overall core canister.
By fostering a mind-body connection to your deep core muscles, including your pelvic floor you’re able to care for these important muscles for optimal long-term function and recognize issues if they come up.
In this 3-week workshop-style series, you’ll learn and practice:
Breathing and engagement techniques to isolate, strengthen and relax your pelvic floor and deep core muscles
Meditation and visualization techniques to help you get to know your core and pelvic floor
Yoga poses and corrective exercises for core and pelvic floor strengthening and relaxing
Postural and alignment tips to support healing from pelvic floor and core issues like incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and diastasis recti (DRA)
Yoga and functional movement practices to develop strength, balance and stability around the pelvis
Postpartum women and women of all ages and stages welcome!
Expect to receive personal attention and great care in these classes...the focus is on YOU.
