Private Prenatal Yoga
in Chicagoland & Online

a custom program to help you ease pregnancy-related discomfort,
build strength and sleep better

Whether you’re preparing for your first or your fourth baby, you’re probably experiencing some mixed emotions and anxiety about birth, becoming a mother or bringing a new baby into your family. You might be experiencing aches, tightness and discomfort in your back, hips, pelvis and legs. You’re having trouble getting comfortable when sitting, standing, walking or sleeping. You want to enjoy your pregnancy and birth and move through this important time with more ease!

You might have even tried attending your usual pre-pregnancy yoga class, but you didn’t feel confident or safe modifying poses. Perhaps the class was crowded so the instructor wasn’t able to give you personal assistance, or they weren’t trained or well-versed in teaching a pregnant student. If there is a prenatal group class near you, maybe the time isn’t compatible with your schedule, or maybe you live in a town where there are no prenatal yoga class options. Or, maybe you’re looking for a more individualized experience where you can deepen your yoga practice and incorporate more meditation, breathing, visualization, guided relaxation and Ayurveda techniques.

You might be aware of the calming and relaxation benefits of Prenatal Yoga, but did you also know that practicing intelligent yoga sequencing and mindful movement while pregnant, can help you:

  • Align your pelvis

  • Learn to both strengthen and relax your pelvic floor muscles

  • Improve mobility

  • Improve ease of falling asleep and get more restorative sleep

  • Improve circulation

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Increase spinal mobility

  • Improve digestion

  • Alleviate common discomforts back pain, restless leg syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, SI joint pain, hip tightness, nausea, swelling and fatigue

Through private prenatal yoga lessons, I will help you ease discomfort while increasing your strength and energy. While practicing the physical poses, meditation and breathing, we’ll work on developing and deepening a connection to your body, heart and baby. This connection will translate well into your birth experience and you will learn to express how you feel in your own body.

Toward the end of your pregnancy, we will work on specific techniques to prepare for birth, whether you’re planning for a vaginal birth or c-section birth. Your birth partner is welcome to join you for these in-person or virtual sessions. Yoga birth preparation sessions can be a great bonding experience and you will both learn applicable techniques.

I can design and tailor a program to your specific needs and the stage of your pregnancy. The practice will shift based on your individual experiences through the practice and the feedback I get from you.

In addition to a custom program, you will receive individual care and attention. I will coach and guide you through online prenatal yoga sessions, in-home or in-studio sessions or a combination. I will offer you support and suggestions on your alignment and make myself available via email and video chat to answer any questions you may have. You will receive photo sequences, videos and guided meditation recordings so you can continue your home practice when we’re not together.

Pregnancy and birth are transformative experiences and it’s possible to move through them with more ease and joy!

*Note - please check with your OBGYN or Midwife before beginning a prenatal yoga program. Yoga is not a substitute for medical or midwifery care. Yoga is a complement to your hospital birthing class, Bradley or Hypnobirthing training or previous birth experience and classes.
